Becoming a King Morgan Snyder

Becoming a King with Morgan Snyder

Our actions reveal our beliefs about ourselves 100% of the time. Are you living the right story?

Life is up to me. I’m all alone. I have to make it happen. Most men live with these unspoken beliefs. We are full of intensity and lacking joy.

But we are not alone. We never were. All we have to do is stop insulating ourselves from the divine guidance that is available to us.

Today’s guest is Morgan Snyder. He is the author of Becoming a King: The Path to Restoring The Heart Of A Man. Morgan teaches us how to become spiritually mature enough to accept the invitation to become who we really are. He tells us how to acknowledge our younger selves and give them the healing they need. He also talks about giving our kids the father they truly need, not our idea of what we think a good father is.

Restore the power of your heart. Open your soul. Ignite the faith that will allow you to live beyond your identity.

Everything that matters is invisible.

Morgan Snyder

Morgan Snyder is a grateful husband of over 20 years and a proud father of a wildly creative and witty daughter and a joyful and passionate son. He serves as a strategist, entrepreneur, teacher, writer, and speaker. His passion is to both be shaped by and shape the men and women who are shaping the kingdom of God. In 2010, he established BecomeGoodSoil, a fellowship of leaders whose global reach offers guidance for the narrow road of becoming the kind of person to whom God can confidently entrust the care of his kingdom.

Morgan serves on the executive leadership team at Wild at Heart and has contended for the wholeheartedness of men and women alongside John and Stasi Eldredge for more than two decades. Morgan goes off the grid every chance he gets, whether bowhunting in the Colorado wilderness or choosing the adventurous life with his greatest treasures: his wife, Cherie; his son, Joshua; and his daughter, Abigail.

The Path to Restoring The Heart Of A Man

Morgan Snyder’s Becoming a King speaks unabashedly to men, teaching them the life-changing truth about the power that God intends for them to responsibly step into for his Kingdom, while also giving women an honest peek behind the curtain into the lives and hearts of the men they know and love.

I’m not the man I was, but I’m not the man I will become.

What You’ll Learn

  • The message Morgan got from his father was, “I am loved when I provide.” In his pursuit of earning, he won the world and lost his soul.
  • One day he thought, “If I died tonight, what would I say to God? I’ve done nothing but serve myself.”
  • This moment didn’t heal his soul. It saved it, but he was still a boy in a man’s body.
  • Morgan set out a path and process of recovering wholeheartedness, going through maturation spiritually.
  • A person uninitiated spiritually will feel responsible for others’ happiness.
  • How to love your children unconditionally and release all outcomes to God.
  • Your goal to be your idea of a great dad may not be what your kids need.
  • Morgan shares where he’s blown it as a dad.
  • We all have a Father who is working out our stories for us.
  • Jesus lived as a son. He was not independent. He was Father centered.
  • We live as orphan spirits and slaves.
  • We’re all under construction. We need to go through a masculine initiation.
  • Let God parent you. When you’re facing a problem, pause and ask your Father his take on it.
  • You’re the only obstacle in receiving His love.
  • Think of a playful and patient god who is near, in real time and real intimacy.
  • Fatherless boys feel unworthy, defective, unlovable.
  • We must be aware of the young places within us that are inviting us to healing.
  • Where do we feel shame and scarcity? When did we first experience this feeling? Excavate and be curious.
  • What defends us from pain insulates us from God.
  • If you’re a sinner saved by grace, you will never live beyond sin.
  • The things that we have the most shame about, we can make into our greatest strengths.
  • Be kind to your soul.

faith through loss

Glory and Strength: Keeping the Faith Through Loss with Nate Edmonds

The death of a spouse is something that’s almost impossible to comprehend. How can you go on without the love of your life? How do you survive without the mother of your children? Going through something this life-altering can cause a man to question his faith and wonder if he will ever find happiness again.

Today’s guest is Nate Edmonds. He is a musician, worship leader, and author of More Than All the Glories. Nate’s story is brutally tragic. He was living his dream as a touring musician with his wife, Dana. Life couldn’t get any better, when they had two kids, until Dana was suddenly taken from him by an aggressive cancer.

Nate talks frankly about being tested, not only as a husband and father, but also as a spiritual leader. He tells the heartbreaking story of Dana’s last days, and how he and his children tapped into their faith to survive. He also reveals how he fought through the darkness and rebuilt his life and his family to live in a happiness he has never known.

Nate’s story is a testament to the power of faith in the face of devastation and grief. Don’t miss this powerful interview.

Nate Edmonds

Growing up the son of a minister, Nate Edmonds has lived a life in search of the heart of God as far back as he can remember.  In his 25 years of ministry, he has held many positions from administrative and broadcast roles to leading worship and writing songs through Fuzed Worship, an outreach of Joyce Meyer Ministries.  After tragedy struck his family in 2015, Nate set out on a path of discovery.  In 2017, he was ordained as the Worship Pastor of Element Church, in Wentzville, Missouri.  Through his latest book and music project, MORE THAN ALL THE GLORIES, Nate tells his families dramatic story of love and redemption.  Together with his beautiful wife Amy and their 5 children, Nate’s vision for his life is to bring glory to Christ through his story and songs.

MORE THAN ALL THE GLORIES: A Memoir of Love and Redemption

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (ESV) If you need hope, encouragement, and a renewed faith in the goodness of God, this book is for you. MORE THAN ALL THE GLORIES is simply captivating. In it, Nate Edmonds shares with vivid detail, his family’s story of love and redemption. He painstakingly relives the trials and suffering his family experienced through a battle with cancer and rebuilding an entirely new life after a tragedy. But this memoir is not a sad story full of lamenting or bitter questions. Rather, it’s a celebration of God’s faithfulness in all seasons of life. Nate’s journey exemplifies Romans 8:28, “God works all things together for good.” It reveals the glory of God in suffering. It shines the light of truth that is so hard to see in the middle of the storm.

Look for truth. Everyone has the ability to hear the voice of God.

What You’ll Learn

  • Nate’s wife’s sudden cancer diagnosis
  • How he and Dana broke the news to their six and eight-year-old kids that their mom was dying
  • Within a month, Dana went from being totally normal and running a business to sleeping 20 hours a day.

  • Nate had a hard time asking for help.

  • 3 months after Dana died, Nate moved on. He married Amy within 30 days of the first date.
  • The people who were still grieving for Dana were angry with him, but he had pre-grieved.
  • The love for Dana was not passionate love. Amy ignited something new in him.
  • How Nate manages his blended family.
  • How he sees the goodness of God in all the hardship and loss.
  • What to do when kids have a crisis of faith and give up on God
  • How to reframe tragedy into a battle

Battling Cancer as a Dad with Hal Elrod

Hal Elrod is a best selling author, international keynote speaker, ultra-marathon runner, world class success coach, and most importantly, a father. He is a man who made it his life’s mission to reach his true potential. Hal seemed absolutely unstoppable. Then he was diagnosed with cancer.

In this episode, Hal Elrod reveals what it was like to face death head-on, what tools he used to heal himself, and how he and his family got though it.

'The greatest gift that we can give to the people that we love is to fulfill our potential so that we can help them fulfill theirs.' – @HalElrod #quotes #miracles #dads #men #fathers #manhood #fatherhood Click To Tweet

Hal Elrod

Hal began a promising career in sales when he was nineteen years old. Then he was hit head-on by a drunk driver at 70 miles an hour. His car was spun into oncoming traffic and he was crushed inside. He bled so heavily from his injuries that he was dead for 6 minutes until the rescue crew cut him out of the wreckage. This first major adversity made him wonder if he was meant for something more. He soon became a motivational speaker.

Then, in 2008 the economy crashed, and Hal crashed with it. He lost half his clients and income, which led to him losing his house to the bank. It was 6-month downward spiral. He came to the conclusion that in order to turn his life around, he would have to dedicate time every day to personal development. The only problem was, how make time for it, and how to make that time incredibly productive?

'Choose the emotions that’ll best serve you. Don’t let your circumstances dictate your emotions.' – @HalElrod #quotes #adversity #cancer #death #affirmations Click To Tweet

Hal decided he’d have to a wake up an hour earlier. Even though it was hard for him at first, it was the only way. Then he researched and gathered the most powerful personal development strategies in human history and began to practice them. He started meditation, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading, and journaling. He wrote the wildly popular book based on this system. To this day, his life’s work is The Miracle Morning.

By this time, Hal was married with two kids. They had their home in Austin and were living the dream until the toughest year of his life when he was diagnosed with cancer.

What You’ll Learn

  • The key to being free from emotional pain
  • How he chose to be happy and grateful while facing a 70% chance of dying
  • How to get over the hump of feeling guilty for investing in yourself
  • How The Miracle Morning will help you become a better version of yourself every day
  • Why Hal reads ten pages a parenting or marriage book every morning instead of a business book
  • Why you should read in front of your kids
  • How his wife and kids responded to his diagnosis
  • How he coped with his family’s reaction
  • Why we have to choose our reasons for our adversity
  • What circled in his mind day in and day out as he endured a brutal chemo treatment

  • The miracle equation to do things you didn’t think you could do
  • How he used the miracle equation to defy the odds and beat cancer
  • Why the purpose of the goal is not to hit the goal
  • Why you should write down affirmations and recite them
  • How affirmations were a crucial factor in his healing
  • How his experience with cancer made him a better father
