Breaking the Chain of Bad Fathering

Being a dad is the toughest and most important job in the world. For those of us who didn’t have a good dad to learn from, it’s even more difficult to navigate life. We didn’t have a proper role model, leaving us without a map to become a good husband and father. But breaking the chain of bad fathering is complex. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we see ourselves falling into the same behaviors we watched as a kid. We feel hopeless and infuriated.

There were no resources for men in previous generations, but we’re going to change that. The mission of the Dad Edge is to empower fathers to be their best. Today, we have a Dad Edge Alliance member on the show to talk about his experience being raised by a violent dad. He vowed not to become like his father, but he fell into the same patterns after his own son was born. He knew he had to stop the cycle for the sake of his son.

Listen to how he learned to grow beyond his upbringing to become a happy, confident, and resilient man.
